2-23-10 Walking

We are all set for walks in our family!! Last night I got my pretty new baby carrier in the mail. Of course, this is for the new baby when we do family walks, and go to Chicago and D.C. this fall. My friend Amanda has one just like it and she LOVES hers, and recommended it highly. It distributes weight more evenly than the Snugli we used with Madeleine, and, as you can see, it even works with toddlers! Madeleine is such a cuddle-bum that she LOVED it :D


Then, this morning, we all took a walk outside with the pups. Lucy has been a little bit of a prima donna lately, and prefers to use the "indoor restroom" instead of either falling through the snow that can't bear her weight, or going on the sidewalk, which she hates. To counter this activity, we have been taking her on more walks, which means a brisk morning outing for all the Schmidt girls! Madeleine loves to "walk" Kellie - although she dropped the leash today and Kellie didn't notice for about 1/4 block. By the end of the walk, it was the mommy-show walking the dogs while Madeleine led the parade. Such a fun morning! Oh - and please notice the bow she had to have in her hair, and her newest love, her fuzzy scarf from Amma. She wasn't sure about it for a while, but was begging for it today! I'm so glad :) And she made sure that I wore my fuzzy scarf too. Thanks, Mom, for our fun accessories. Please don't take issue with her lack of both gloves and a hat... there is no arguing with this child sometimes. I decided not to pick that battle this morning - her mittens are in my pocket :) Enjoy the pictures!
