2-5-07 Exciting house news!

For those who we haven't called or e-mailed, we're getting our house ready to list for sale at the end of the month - yikes! We're so excited at the thought of selling, but the prep work is killer! Working with a Toddler is like trying to nail jell-o to the wall; it's nearly impossible. Once again, Ted and I are amazed at how single parents do it. We tag team and one of us watches her, and the other actually works. So far, so good - and we hope it continues to go well!

We've painted the remaining basement walls, stairwell, foyer and are now working on the kitchen and then dining room. Today the new kitchen and foyer flooring went down, and we'll be getting new carpet in the living room, hallway and stairway on the 17th. During all of this, we're trying to declutter and clean as much as possible. We've made the first couple of many, many trips to Good Will and are collecting boxes from several sources.

Keep your fingers crossed that this all pans out and we have a quick sale at our asking price! The big push to get on the market soon is that the medical residents find out what hospital/clinic they're matched with in March - we want to make sure that when the Mayo matches come to town looking for houses, ours is at the top of the list! There will be a lot of competition, but we're hoping that with new finishes and great staging we'll be very desirable.

Here are a couple of pictures: you can see the color that we're painting all the walls here in a shot of the kitchen - imagine that you're standing under the arch between the living room and kitchen, looking up at the ceiling line:

Here are the flooring options/samples. We went with the lighter vinyl on the left - and the two carpet samples in the middle are the same, but the grain is going in different directions. That's the carpet that will go down everywhere.

And here are my toes next to Madeleine's first pedicure on the new flooring. :) Does she have the cutest piggies or what?!?

Anyway - like I said - keep your fingers crossed for a quick and painless sale! Thanks :)
