Today is Ted's 37th birthday! It's also Wednesday, which follows Tuesday - and together they're the two busiest days of our week. That makes it hard to plan and execute special events, but we did the best we could to make Ted feel special. I picked up his favorite black forest cake from Daube's bakery, and then rushed home to throw together pasta and garlic bread. To make it nicer than just a regular week night, I set the table with our wedding china and popped a bottle of wine from Salem Glen winery. Ted enjoyed his presents and cake, and even my camera celebrated by putting a crown of flames on his head! Seriously, though, how funny is the reflection of the candles? After dinner, it was off to dance class for Madeleine. It's observation week this week, so we were actually encouraged to sit in the room, and then all the parents and siblings got up and danced at the end of class! It's been a busy day, but very enjoyable.
Happy Birthday, Ted! I hope you enjoyed your special day, even if it was right in the middle of the week in our crazy schedule :)
