Last night was a really fun first!! Amanda and I were talking about weekend plans, and she mentioned bowling - so I invited our family along :) We had a blast - first we had pizza buffet at the Pizza Ranch. We had a pretty private room, which is nice when you have five kids under the age of 3.5. Julia had her first experience of noticing me holding another baby. Amanda was holding her, and she zoned in on me holding Brandt and then she got the most wounded look in her eyes, and her chin started to quiver! I've never seen her make that face before. Poor girl.
After dinner, we headed to the bowling alley. We started out strong - it was an amazingly kid-friendly set up! They put bumpers up, and then had a great ramp thing to give the ball some direction (and momentum!) The funniest moment was when Madeleine discovered the hand dryer and started "drying her hair" with it. Poor Bryson tried to dry his hair too, but it doesn't blow quite the same as Madeleine's :) We were amazed and impressed when the kids were picking up and carrying (with spotters!) the 13 lb balls! I was very impressed with our strong little ones!!
We wrapped up the first game and all had to laugh that only Eddie was able to top the toddlers' scores. Towards the end of the second game, the kids attention started to wane, which led to twirling dancing across the lanes by our little ballerina, climbing on the ramp, and taking a little "rest" ... with or without the balls :) Overall, it was a really fun evening! It's so fun the Madeleine is now old enough to do some of these special family events.
