It was a beautiful evening, so Ted and I packed a picnic dinner and headed to Oxbow for some Friday evening hiking. It was a little muddy, but the weather was just perfect! Not too hot or cold, and we've really got all systems down for hiking. Madeleine saw me put the wrap on, and Ted put the backpack on, so she had to put on her doggie backpack, too. :) Poor Julia was the only one without something (or someone) strapped on. When we got to the top of the ridge, we ate PB&Js, nuts and bolts and leftover "cake bites" from dinner last night. Julia did her best to eat the dry leaves, while Madeleine told her, "No, Julia, we don't eat leaves!" It was great! Very quiet and scenic. We took full advantage of the timer on the camera and got a nice family picture where everyone is looking in the same direction, and 75% are smiling! Amazing!! Enjoy the pictures - after that hike, I think we'll all sleep well tonight!
