The stars aligned for the princess this morning. We had the very first appointment of the day, so there was no waiting. She got her IV with very few problems, and the Neurologist actually held her head during the scan (I held her little hand and chest). The actual scan was only about 20 seconds, and the neurologist was able to go back and look at it right away and tell us that it was a good, clear scan and we didn't have to sedate Madeleine! I'm so glad! She had to keep the pick line for 20 minutes after the contrast dye was inserted to make sure there was no reaction to the iodine in the dye, and during that time we had a bottle and took a little nap.
The doctor came in while we were waiting and gave us the results - it turns out that the lump was a lymph node after all.
Anyway - the moral of the story is that she's just fine. A little traumatized after this morning, but all back to smiles and giggles on the ride home.
