I suppose my faithful followers have noticed it's been a month since my last post (I'm talking to you Aunt Kay and Aunt Mary, John and Barb! ;). Well, hold on to your underpants, folks, here come about 30 pictures. It's been a big month!! They're going to be in kind of an odd order. But we're an odd family - so it fits.
Let's start with tonight! Every year for Mother's Day, we go hiking at Oxbow park and take pictures with the beautiful and bountiful bluebells. Well, this year they bloomed early. I think they probably peaked this past weekend, but we were able to get a few pictures. Here are some pictures from our lovely hike. We finished the trek with an awesome picnic dinner- Ted made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, plus trail mix, sliced cheese, carrots and juice boxes. A meal fit for royals!
OK, flashback time ... Ted and I are honored to be Melanie's godparents. We took a trip out to Washington, D.C. for the joyful event of her baptism. Mom made Melanie's dress from her own wedding dress! The ribbons in the back are from Stacy's bridal bouquet.

M and J are BEST buds!! They even read books without pictures together.
Books WITH pictures are mom's forte. This princess book was RIVETING! She's really good at animal sounds too.

M&J... I actually have no clue what they're doing here. But they pretty much spent the whole week huddled up like this.
Mom bought the girls' dresses. This is one of M's "princess poses"
M wanted Jakey to be a prince. Look at the strain on her face while she tries to get him to stand up and pose with her, while trying not to break out of the princess mode. He's just bustin' a move. :)
Baptism. Melanie slept like a baby the whole time. Makes sense, I guess...
We saw M&J walking down the sidewalk... by themselves. We asked what they were doing, and Madeleine said, "well, I wanted to go to the park, and Jakey opened the door, so we went." She was so sincere. So we all went to the park and had a long discussion about not leaving without a grown-up. Even if Jakey does open the door. (and also that if Jakey jumps off a bridge or out of a plane, like his mommy and daddy, that doesn't mean she has to.)
We hit the zoo with Joelle! We actually brought the kids, too, but they're off with the grands looking at turtles or something.
M took a nap in some flowers.
And then, when we got back to Minnesota, it was time to spring into Easter! Here's the egg hunt at church, followed by family pictures on the deck. We were very lucky to have both sets of grands spend the holiday with us!
