6-9-12 cuteness on wheels

One of the things we really love about living where we do is that we're close to lots of nice places to take walks and ride bikes; especially the Douglas Trail. The trail is 13 miles of a nicely paved path through a wooded areas, and starts near our house. We run and bike on it frequently, and last Saturday, while Ted was on a field trip with his brew club, the girls and I loaded up the car and drove to a spot along the Douglas trail about five miles from our house. It was fun for Madeleine to see a new spot on the trail, and it was great for biking because it's very flat, with no overpass bridges (unlike the four that are within the first 3 miles of the trail by our house). Madeleine did great on her bike, and I'm thinking we may be looking at time to take a trial without training wheels! How is it possible that our girl is big enough for that?! Of course, we're always fashionable while biking. Dresses and orange pants are a must. Plus, a friend in the basket. Julia rolled on in style in the stroller :)

Last night was exciting on the weather front. We had a shelf cloud roll into the area around 7:30 last night, and it brought with it very high winds. We took a couple pictures before the rain hit - and you can see from M's hair and pinwheel how the winds were whipping around! I'm drinking my coffee and watching the news right now (my favorite weatherman is on air ;) and it's filled with stories about wind damage. Fortunately, we avoided anything major here. The extent of our damage is that the battery in our rain gauge died. I don't think that meets the deductible on our insurance...  I hope your weather is wonderful and the weekend treats you well! And Aunt Mary/Aunt Kay - we'll see you in TWO WEEKS!! We are SO excited!
