We had a busy, but fun-filled weekend! On Saturday, we woke up and got Madeleine ready for picture day at her dance studio. That was followed by a preview of her dance recital. Very cute! They have a month left to practice, and I think it will be a great show!
After dance, we came home and were *finally* able to reasonably say "yes" when Madeleine asked if she could go fly her kite. It was sunny and a little breezy, and perfect kite weather!
Except when Julia tried to catch the kite....
Ted got crafty with pictures :)
While Julia napped, Madeleine and I went to cheer on my friend Amanda as she ran in a Color Dash fun run. Basically, you start out in white, and end up tie dyed :)
Madeleine got a couple of little packets of color and had such fun with them!
So when we got to the yellow station, we asked if she could help throw color at the runners. They were kind enough to allow that, and she had a blast!
The color is just corn starch, so it's light and powdery.
when they were done, the runners weren't white any more :)
On Sunday, I did my own race with two of my coworkers. They wanted to wear tutus, and the theme was "if the crown fits, run with it" ... so we ran with crowns :)
And tonight isn't really part of the weekend, but we're doing family pictures next weekend and had to check out our outfits to make sure they coordinate. Ted was actually the last piece of the puzzle to fit in. Luckily, I married a great looking guy, who looks good in anything. Wasn't that good planning on my part? I thought so ;)he thinks so, too :)
And, because we live in Minnesota, we had to try it out with sweaters. Because we're expecting more snow this week, and Sunday's weather looks a little cool. :/ Fingers crossed we don't need them!
And do notice the massive band aid pile on M's knee. She had a rough weekend, and wound up scraping BOTH knees - in two different incidents. The one with daddy (when she fell off her bike) was far messier than the one with me, when she tripped on her way out the door to the park. Poor girl! Let's hope those heal up in the next week!
