Tonight we went to Mayo for a big sister class for Madeleine! We talked about being a big sister and read a book about baby growing in Mommy's tummy. Then we visited the post-natal ward and saw a brand new baby!! Her name was Kennedy, and we sang her happy birthday - she was just born last night. After coming back to the classroom, we watched a silly video, and then practiced changing diapers. Madeleine's baby pooped THREE TIMES (or so she told us) so she kept changing diapers on her doll. Then she calmed him because he was crying, and then we colored. All in all, it was a fun class, and I'm glad we went. The best part was the tour of the hospital rooms, so hopefully, Madeleine won't be quite so freaked out when we go in August. The nurse educator was also very sweet and gave us tips on how to greet our toddlers when they come to visit, and what can and can't go in the baby's bassinet (a picture of big sister is fine, but a present from big sister is a no-no). It's hard to believe that in less than 9 weeks, Julia will be here! We're really excited and can't wait to meet her :) Hopefully this class prepared Madeleine just a little bit more.
