7/31/11 Madeleine's Fourth Birthday Party!

Madeleine's fourth birthday party was today, and this was a big one! It was her very first "friends" party. She and her good friend Ben from daycare have birthdays two weeks apart, so we figured that the same kids would be invited to both parties, and decided to combine efforts for one big party. My friend Amanda was very kind and loaned us her AMAZING water slide! It was 100% the hit of the party - and was SO cool! We also had the kids decorate foam visors, had the kiddy car wash I made, and filled buckets and the pool with water and sponges so they could throw sponges at each other instead of water balloons. They were far easier to clean up, and there were no worries about the sponges exploding in someone's face! We also cracked out ice pops to keep the kids cool.

After an hour or so of crafting and playing, we came inside to open presents and sing happy birthday. Then went back outside for cupcakes and more playing. Overall, it was a pretty awesome birthday party!! The weather was hot and sunny, but perfect for playing in the back yard. I have to say, I think this was one of the coolest parties ever. The kids had an absolute blast!
