2-18-07 Clarence Models

Ok, for anyone who doesn't know, we have this stuffed dog named Clarence. He's made out of crushed gold velvet, and about the saddest looking thing ever. He is the incarnate of an ugly gold chair that Ted used to have and I made him get rid of before we moved in together. From day one, we have been building an extensive personality and back story for him. For example Clarence is our accountant, but we have to double check his work because he's usually drunk. He drinks because his wife Fifi (a showdog from Vegas) left him and took the puppies. He loves the Cubs and sports in general, but mostly because Ted "shares" his beer while they watch together. He is a world traveller, and if you want to see pictures of Clarence in Scotland, e-mail us. Otherwise, we're moving on to the real story here.

We went to Ted's folks this weekend and it was a BLAST! The drive down was stressful (for Ted mostly, he drove) and took 6 hours. It usually takes 4 1/2 hours, but we drove in nasty, snowy conditions most of the way there. We had a nice time visiting with John and Barb, and saw "West Side Story" at Circa 21 dinner theater on Saturday night. Today, on the way home, we stopped at the Iowa City Scheels sports store. We like to stop there because they carry an extensive amount of Hawkeye and Cubs paraphernalia, and most of it is hard to find up here in Minnesota. We wanted a cute Hawkeye outfit for BS. We found one in a size 18 mos that will be perfect for next year. While looking around, we also found that cute Cubbie set that was on our sidebar in size 3/6 mos (for baseball season later this summer). It cost about half as much at Scheels as it did online, so we bought it. As you can see, Clarence was willing to model for us. Isn't it cute? Do you LOVE the baseball on the butt? I owe C-Dog a tall frosty one for that embarrassment, but Ted and I are still laughing. We recognize that people have been committed to mental institutions for less than this, but we don't care. We amuse each other, and that's enough for us. Enjoy the pictures, I have a beer to pour.
