10-11-10 Weekend visit with the family

We're finally home from a long weekend in Sun Prairie with Stacy, Jacob and my folks - and on Sunday our Aunt Kay visited too! We arrived late, late Thursday night and after a lazy Friday morning, we headed to a pumpkin farm with a petting zoo. I left my camera at the house (GASP!!!) so we'll add pictures later, but rest assured, we had fun!! Especially "feeding" the llama and goats, who were trying to much on Dad's shirt and the strollers, respectively. We had a lovely dinner with the Veserats on Friday night (Happy birthd... I mean anniversary, Jeryn and Mike!) On Saturday, we had another great, lazy day. We did a little shopping at an outlet mall and then came home for a very nice steak dinner and bonfire. We did find that Wisconsin is an excellent place for naps. Especially if you in the "under four" crowd and grandparents are around :) Julia spent a good part of the weekend sleeping on Amma, Appa, Aunt Stacy, and me... Jake took a couple snoozers on Appa's belly and mommy's chest, and I think even Madeleine dozed a bit with the grown ups. Stacy and I got our nap on, too, though - and it was so awesome having more adults than children so we could do "zone coverage" and take turns watching the kids. We put the kids to bed earlier on Saturday and sat around playing cards and laughing - what a wonderful way to end a day!!

On Sunday we headed to the Sun Prairie fire department for a community fair and pancake breakfast. Good times! Aunt Kay was there when we got back, and we made a lovely visit and dinner at home. On Monday we got up and did breakfast at the IHOP, came home for pictures, and then Stacy and I headed home. Overall, a great, great weekend.

Sunshine, long day and Appa's lap - all the ingredients needed for a good snoozer!
Cousins playing
Does Jake have the most soulful brown eyes you've ever seen or what?!
Sisters ... pretty in pink!
Jake rockin' the Bumbo. He actually fits better now than he did as an infant!
Cutie patooties!
cotton candy and a balloon - who could ask for anything more?
sweetness with his hat and balloon
"Mom!! I've got things to explore here - let go!"
Fireman Jake to the rescue
"Here, let me show you how to drive this thing."
"I'll do the shifter, you steer, and then we just need someone to do the pedals"

Siiiiiinging in the rain (or in the sprinkler...)
Eeeeeeating grapes in the rain (or the sprinkler)

Testing out the camera remote
Well, two out of three are looking at the camera - we'll call that a success!
Q-T!!
He looks so angelic here
We took about twenty pictures - this is the best one
Jake and Stacy look great in this one, but check out Julia! LOL!

Happiness is an arm-full of grandkids.

Pretty pictures of Stacy and Jake

Cashed out after an exhausting weekend! (doesn't she look comfy?)
