5-15-11 - hiking at Whitewater

Today was a wonderfully fun day!! We started out early by bottling the beer for the family reunion. After that was done, we had scones for brunch and then packed a backpack to go and check out the closest state park - Whitewater. We loved it! We've heard great things about it, and were thrilled to see for ourselves. The very start of the trail is a gazillion and four steps to the ridge of a huge bluff, then it was hiking along the top of the bluff and winding our way down. We stopped in an open area for a picnic, and then finished our hike back to the car. We were out for about two and a half ours and it was just the most perfect day for our hike! Plus - I got bonus activity points for lugging 20 (yes TWENTY) pounds of baby. Our girl is solid!
