We've been awfully busy since last Tuesday! Just before heading to class, I took J's week three pictures. Adorable, naturally...
Then, right after class, we headed to Wisconsin to see Amma and Appa. We arrived late, hit the sack and then got up early the next day to go to Julia's first Chicago Cubs game (which they won!! Yay!) Julia Addison in front of the West Addison sign. No, the similarity is NOT a coincidence :)
Excited to be in awesome seats! We were right next to the infamous "Steve Bartman" seat.
Lester Strode, the pitchers coach, gave Madeleine the warm up ball!
Julia was pretty much asleep the whole entire game - it was awesome! Also, the day was warm, but overcast, so no sunburns :) It was just PERFECT!
Our popcorn loving girl!
After the game with Cubby Bear :)
Amma, Appa and their favorite girls! Yes, Stacy, we have been displaced.
From Wisconsin (IL then back to WI) we headed... back to IL to see Ted's family. His brother Tim celebrated his 40th Birthday on Friday, and Jocelyn bought him tickets to the Hawkeyes' season opener! They whalloped Easter Illinois and the boys (and Jocelyn and Livvy) had a great time at the game!
If Ted and John look a little tired here, its because they had some interrupted sleep the night before. Our poor, poor Madeleine rolled out of bed shortly before 2:00 a.m. and gashed open her brow :( Three hours (and a trip to the Moline ER) later, she has five stitches. Or, as she calls it, an owie on her face. We feel just awful, but it doesn't seem to bother her much. We are praying that the scar is minor, because it looks pretty vicious right now!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.... Barb and I took Madeleine and Julia to the zoo! They have a great carousel there! Of course, Madeleine had to ride on the monkey (or milkey), as she calls them.Feeding the goats.
Our own adorable milkies :)
Elephant ride!
Happy birthday, Uncle Tim!!
Our two cute cheerleaders - Madeleine and Livvy
All the kids watching a movie before bed. Guess whose mommy has a camera addiction.
Julia (hearts) Madeleine
The BEST toy in the world! A piano. Sure its loud, but at least we knew where the kids were most of the time!
Time for some posed pictures! From L-R - Zaine (4.5 years), Garrett (10), Madeleine (3), John holding Julia (3.5 weeks), Barb holding Livvy (2)
Adding in Tim, Ted, Jocelyn and me :)
And finally, Madeleine and Julia with Oma and Opa :)
We headed home shortly after this. It was a BUSY week, but we had fun and our teams both won! Today is a bit of a vacation hangover. We need to go grocery shopping, get unpacked and I have to prepare for class tomorrow night. No relaxing on Labor day for us!! Have a great holiday, everyone!
