8-12-10 home!

We came home yesterday :) Ted was so sweet - he had balloons in the yard announcing our arrival. We ate dinner, visited with our neighbor who stopped by, and then settled down for the evening.... sort of. It was a loooong night of being up every 90 minutes or so. Ted left for work at about 3:00, and after two more wakings, Julia and I slept for three whole hours between 6 and 9:00 a.m. It was bliss! I'm hoping that tonight we get some longer stretches. Thankfully, Madeleine is at my parents' house, so at least one of us is getting good sleep! Today was a quiet morning. Ted got home and we took a very slow and measured walk around the block, and then he got about an hour long nap before Julia's first doctor's appointment at the Northwest clinic. She was proclaimed PERFECT! Our doctor actually said that she has never seen biliruben levels as low as hers, and that the chances of her having jaundice are extremely low. She's gained back some of the weight that she lost and all is going just perfectly. We took a trip to Target for some diapers, a few groceries and doctor-recommended vitamin D for our girl (a standard recommendation for breastfed babies as of this year). When we got home, it started to storm a little bit and Ted took the dogs for a quick walk around the block. When he got back, the severe thunderstorm warnings that had just been issued were upgraded to tornado warnings!! Ted told me to take Julia to the basement and ran to the TV station to help with the weather coverage. Thankfully, the warnings have now expired, but there were at least a couple of tornadoes that touched down in the towns around us.
