8-17-10 One week old!

We've had an exciting couple of days! Madeleine came home yesterday after a week at Hotel Gordon - it's an exclusive resort that comes with two full-time staff to attend to every need :) She was good with baby sister when she got back, but a little clingy and needy after a week away from mom and dad, but made time to do the little piggies with Julia - complete withe walking her fingers up J's belly and beeping her nose. We had some special Madeleine time after Amma and Appa left and took our first family walk to the park. She had a good time being both the pusher of the swing (for pink bunny) and having daddy push her on the swings. After a kind of rough bed time at home, she slept until almost 9:00 this morning! We were especially surprised because we got our new window today. They started before 8:30 and were quite loud! After we got dressed, we headed to the doctor check ups for both girls and left the window guys to work on their project.

Madeleine is 36.3 inches tall and weighs 26.7 lbs. She's in the 30th percentile for height and 11th percentile for weight. Julia is 8 lbs 1 oz (58th percentile) - and was 19 inches long (24th percentile) on Friday ... they didn't measure her today. We stopped by Sam's Club on the way home and spent a small fortune on diapers and wipes. When we got home, Madeleine decided that she likes lounging in the Boppy, and Ted and I decided we like having a window over the sink that's not boarded up! Apparently they guy who came last week didn't measure our window sill, so we won't have trim for a couple of days - but it sure is nice to be able to open the window again!!.

Julia is ONE WEEK old today! So, in the spirit of the weekly photo shoots we did with Madeleine, we did our first weekly picture of Julia today - along with a sister picture of both girls. We're looking forward to a quiet rest of the day. Madeleine starts daycare again tomorrow, and I start teaching a week from today! I'm looking forward to both events :)
