I'm exactly 9 weeks today, and it's been a busy day! First we shared our news at church this morning. Ted was the lector at the 8:00 church service this morning; during the "prayers of the people" he slipped in a prayer request for "those preparing for the birth of a child: Ted and Cara Schmidt" He paused after saying it, and after it sunk in for a second, there were a couple of audible gasps. :) What fun! Then, for the 10:00 service, we just made an announcement at the beginning of the service. We wanted the bulk of the congregation to hear first hand, instead of the rumor mill kicking into overdrive. When he said that the congregation would be growing in August, the crowd started clapping - it was a really fun moment for us. Our church is like our second family, and it's nice to know that we'll have so many supporters for BS.
After church, we laid low for most of the afternoon, then took the dogs for a walk. During the walk, we called Ted's brother Tim and told him that his first niece or nephew would be born in August. He and his family were, of course, very excited as well. We also sent out a couple of e-mails to friends and neighbors we don't see very often. We'll have some friends over for dinner on Saturday, and after we've told them, all that will be left to do will be to announce it at KTTC. Ted is thinking about Groundhog's day.
Hope the upcoming week goes well for everyone!
